How does the THYRO-Check® thyroid underactive test work?
THYRO-Check® is an immunodiagnostic rapid home test by taking blood from the fingertip to detect elevated TSH value. The thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH, thyrotropin) secreted by the pituitary gland. An increase in TSH indicates hypothyroidism, and THYRO-Check® test is based on this detection. Therefore, TSH value of more than 5 μIU TSH / ml, appears in positive test results shows that you are likely to have an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism or hypothyroidism).
THYRO-Check® test can be used at any time of the day. THYRO-Check® test cannot be used during substitution therapies using thyroid hormones.
What you need to do when your underactive thyroid test result is positive?
A positive test result means that the value of TSH in blood is higher than normal (5 μIU / ml), and thus you should consult your doctor. Your doctor will determine additional treatment if necessary.
What do you need to do if the test result is negative?
A negative result means that the TSH content is less than 5 μIU / mL, and this is within the normal range. However, if the symptoms persist we recommend that you consult your doctor.
